Hotels: occupation increases in 2005

San Jose, Costa Rica - (Costa Rica Tourism Board) - It has been estimated, that the hotel’s occupation during the first three months of the year 2005 increased by 15%, compared with the period 2004, which means that the occupation reaches 90%.

That means, that the hotels operate in the high season, which is the strongest in history, nearly at full capacity.

The occupation depends on if there is a major inflow of foreign tourists in January, February and March (for example in the year 2004 1.5 Million persons were registered). But it depends as well on the national tourists, especially because those months are the summer months and the school vacations.

The Costa Ricans more and more want to become acquainted with their own country which contributes to the increase of the hotel’s occupation.
