Maradona's "showbol" cancelled in Costa Rica

San Jose, Costa Rica (Xinhua) - Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona's "Showbol" programmed for March 1 at Ricardo Saprissa stadium was unexpectedly cancelled, the event's organizer Novaterra company informed on Friday.

Novaterra, quoted by the Internet edition of La Nacion daily, did not give detailed information about what triggered this decision, although it clearly stated they will return the money to fans that purchased tickets for the "showbol" event.

The "showbol" is an indoor soccer event with seven players per team playing in a 42 by 22 meters field.

Maradona is the company's main partner, and the company has presented its show in many countries in the American continent.

Maradona's "showbol" team includes many Argentine former soccer stars and they had planned to play against famous retired soccer players from other countries in the event.
